The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your application for federal and state grants, work study and student loans. Students must apply each year they will attend.
Completing the 2025‑26 FAFSA
Students who plan to attend during the Fall 2025, Spring 2026 or Summer 2026 semesters should complete a 2025-26 FAFSA.
The 2025-26 FAFSA is now available at fafsa.gov.

Completing the 2024‑25 FAFSA
Students who are attending the Fall 2024, Spring 2025 or Summer 2025 semesters should complete a 2024-25 FAFSA (currently available at fafsa.gov).
To complete the FAFSA, all contributors must be present and bring their required documents. Review 01BHC Financial Aid Checklist 2024-25 (PDF) for details. (Incomplete FAFSAs can be saved and completed by student or parent at a later time.)
*Please note: families with extenuating circumstances can submit a 20Special Conditions Intake Form 2024-25 (PDF) for additional review.

The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid is a separate state financial aid application for eligible undocumented students who do not qualify for federal financial aid.
